Zinc or plain nuts do not work with galvanized bolts due to the coating thickness.
Galvanized nuts must be used with galvanized bolts.

Hot dipped galvanized fasteners are much more corrosion resistant than other types of finishes. Because of the thickness of the coating, galvanized nuts can only be used with Galvanized Bolts.

Zinc plating provides moderate protection against corrosion. Shiny silver in color, cannot be used with Galvanized Bolts.

Plain finish is ideal for painting and welding applications. Color ranges from grey to carbon black. Comes with a light oil coating.
