Hex Head Lag Screws are available in Zinc Plated for moderate corrosion resistance, Hot Dipped Galvanized for higher corrosion resistance, and 18-8 or 316 Stainless steel for the highest level of corrosion resistance.
Hot Dipped Galvanized, as well as 18-8 and 316 Stainless Steel are intended for use in marine and outdoor applications, and with any type of treated lumber. We also sell Plain Finish (Uncoated) in full cartons.
Hex Head Lag Screws are also commonly referred to as Lag Bolts due to their large size and hexagonal head. The two terms are generally used interchangably. They are most commonly used in wood construction.
Hot dipped galvanized lag screws are very corrosion resistant and are commonly used in outdoor and marine environments such as docks. They are dull gray in color. Our Galvanized Lag Screws are made of Low Carbon Steel.

Zinc plating is the most common finish and provides moderate corrosion resistance. Zinc plated Lag Screws are shiny silver in color. Our Zinc Lag Screws are made of Low Carbon Steel.

18-8 Stainless Steel provides a high level of corrosion resistance, and is recommended for use outdoors. 316 Stainless provides the highest level of corrosion resistance, and is recommended for food-grade applications, as well as salt-water applications.

Plain finish steel has no corrosion resistant coating and is dark gray or black in color. We only sell Plain Finish Lag Screws in full carton quantities. Our Plain Finish Lag Screws are made of Low Carbon Steel.
